Actually, you could call current conditions kind of perfect. However, I am getting a bit tired of the warm weather now, but I'll write more about that in a later post.
But, if the weather gods give you weather like this, well, just USE it to your best advantage!
Saturday was no exception. Peter and I decided to take a walk at nearby Lake Anne here in Reston.
The afternoon was as clear, and blue, as can be.
Well, maybe it even got to be a tad bit too hot (around 84 F. 28 C).
But, Peter and I enjoyed the walk a lot.
I am very thankful that we have a fair share of lakes in Reston. I am also thankful for all the walking paths everywhere, 55 miles in total in the Reston area ( 90 KM). You'll always see a lot of people that are outside walking.
I really like that.
There are still flowers, and bumblebees!
A perfect Saturday afternoon by Lake Anne.
And, it was so nice to take a rest at this "beach area". No, I would not like to swim in the Reston lakes. They are too murky (snakes, snapping turtles, fish of all sizes, muddy, shallow etc). Karolina, however, swims in the lakes during the summer season. Fine. I have zero desire to do so. BUT, I love walking around the lakes, looking at them and what not! Every morning, as I am out on my PW, I see at least two swimmers swimming from one end of the lake to the other (Lake Thoreau). It looks really serene...
And, no, I do not think that the water is cold in the lakes. Not yet. It is not time for ice porn, not quite yet....
What you see in the distance is Lake Anne Plaza, the oldest "village center" of Reston. The original center of Reston, if you will. The new hub nowadays is the urban Reston Town Center. But, Lake Anne Plaza is the original without a doubt.
Mostly green, still.
A cove of Lake Anne.
It is the last day of September today.
I wish you all a great Tuesday!
